About Sylla's Art
For a long time, my oil paintings, despite their beauty, felt incomplete—a reflection of my own search for deeper purpose. My true artistic journey began when I naturally turned to the Quran, Allah's words.
I now approach my canvas as a culmination of spiritual exploration. Each painting became a deep dive into the ocean that is the Quran. By Allah's mercy, I am left Transformed from each reflection. My art is the result impulse to convey the immense and overwhelming feeling of purpose found within the words of God.
My work is meant to create a visual anchor designed to share that spiritual conviction, and drive my audience to the Quran and their own transforming experience. May Allah open our hearts to His words.

Biography
Mohamed Sylla is an oil painter and resident doctor whose work is a direct reflection of a life lived between two cultures and two world. Born in the U.S. and raised in Senegal, he was faced with a pivotal choice: a career in medicine to serve his community or a life dedicated to beauty and art. He chose medicine, believing it meant leaving his passion for painting behind.
Upon returning to the U.S. to further his studies, Mohamed realized he did not have to abandon his creative pursuits. In fact, art make us feel human and that quality is key to being a great doctor. He began a new journey, blending the study of biology with art. Although he had few formal art classes, he painstakingly developped incredible skill, honing his technique through countless hours of online lessons and the practice of plein air painting. This dedication to his craft led him to find his true voice in the exploration of his faith.
Today, Mohamed is an Islamic artist who uses traditional oil painting to illustrate his reflections on the Quran. His art is a testament to the idea that a life of service and a creative, spiritual pursuit are not mutually exclusive. He invites viewers to join him in a continuous journey of discovery.
